We’re having trouble getting a hold of you. How is the best way to contact you to place an order?

We do not have a full-time administrative assistant here at our bakery. The best way to place a request for a cake it use our “Form Submission.” If you cannot reach us, please leave a message or send us a text and we will get back to you! Sorry, we do not accept orders via text, Facebook, Messenger or Instagram.

We also only process emails or new requests between the hours of Tuesday at 10:00- Friday at 4:00pm. If you send us a message outside of these hours you may not receive a response until the next business day. Weekends are extremely busy, we so not get back to quotes over the weekends while we are serving our current customers.

What’s the difference between

“Layers” and “Tiers”?

Each of our cakes are made up of either two or three individual “layers” of cake.

“Tiers” are like the levels of a cake.

It’s just sugar, flour and eggs! Why are your cakes so expensive?

We get it! We realize that you can go to our local chain stores are get a similar serving cake for 1/4 of the price that we are asking. Unfortunately we wish it was just “sugar, flour and eggs!” But ask any one who has owned their own business, there are countless expenses that go into being an entrepreneur. However, we choose to use fresh ingredients, bake each cake to order and customize each cake to meet specific requests. Meeting those requests takes training and time. And we pay our trained staff a living wage that is according to their expertise. Unfortunately, it is common knowledge that food workers are often underpaid and cannot save for the future. Working under that model for 20 years leaves many burned out and uninspired. So, today, we set the prices accordingly; so that The Midnight Sun Cakery can stay in business and for the staff that work here to make a living wage to support themselves and their families.

What do you consider A Custom Cake?

For us, that includes our Signature Cakes, Custom Cakes & Wedding Cakes.

When should I order my custom cake?

We would suggest you order your custom cake as soon as possible! At the very least we suggest at least TWO-WEEKS in advance. Our busy season is May-September. We frequently book these dates six months in advance. So get your name in!

How do I reserve my date for my custom cake order?

You can call (Tuesday -Friday 10:30-3:30) or email a request on our site. Our administrative assistant will begin the process of helping you select the right cake and style for your event. Once you have started the ordering process we place a “soft-hold” on your spot. We can only take five custom cakes every weekend.

Once all the details are arranged, we ask for a 50% deposit to secure your spot. If your total order is over $300 we ask for the balance two-weeks before your event. Otherwise the balance is due when you pick up your order.

Can I taste the cakes before I order?

YES! We can provide two different samples of our cakes & fillings for free! Just give us a call and we can set up a sample pack! If you would like to try more than two flavors we have sample packs available for purchase.
